“Red Spider Lily"
Red Spider Lily is associated with death or painful memory in some countries. It is beautiful, but you do not give people a bouquet of red spider lilies. I went through some challenging health conditions before and within this 2022 Fall semester. In this print, the half-eye ball connects to my soul; I do not see from my eye only but with my soul. Red spider lily's tattoos all over the half-body, I felt close to death. The upside-down red spider lilies were in the background, which meant a short fireworks moment.
I tried to craft it as detailed as possible because the flower's shape is very delicate—also, the veins of the eyeball. So, I used the finest tool to craft most of the area. I used Prussian Blue, purified to match with red in watercolor.
